Apple Releases iOS 4 For iPhone And iPod Touch

Apple had given us a sneak peak of the next generation OS iPhone in April. iOS 4 includes over 100 new features for iPhone users and more than 1,500 new APIs for developers App. iOS 4 works with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G. Not all features are compatible with all devices. For example, multitasking is available only with iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.

According to the Release Notes iOS 4 contains an extensive list of new features:

Multitasking:

Now you can play your favorite programs from third parties – and instantly switch between them – without slowing the performance in the foreground app or not draining the battery unnecessarily.

Folder:

Organizing apps into folders with drag-and-drop. Get faster access to search in your favorites and and manage up to 2160 apps.

Even better mail:

See organize messages from all your accounts in a single inbox, messages of thread, open attachments in third-party applications and much more.

iBooks:

More than a great eBook Reader iBooks is also an amazing place to browse and shop for books, day or night.

5x digital zoom:

Go to your subjects when you zoom in up to 5X closer.

Home Screen Wallpaper:

Change the background image on your Home screen.

Spell check:

A built-in dictionary automatically suggests words and corrects spelling. It works in Mail, Notes, and other applications.

Wireless keyboard support:

Pair a Bluetooth wireless keyboard on your iPhone is based.
